Veterinary nursing centre opened

Earl of Wessex opens new centre

L-R: HRH, The Earl of Wessex, with
Professor Neil Gorman, vice-chancellor
of Nottingham Trent University,
and Professor Jenny Saint.

The Earl of Wessex has opened a new £1.5m veterinary nursing centre and animal unit at Nottingham Trent University's Brackenhurst campus.

The new unit, to which the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) contributed £950,000, has state-of-the-art equipment that will be used in teaching veterinary nursing courses. The unit is already gathering considerable interest from prospective students across the country and offers life-long learning opportunities and career advancement in the profession.

Professor Jenny Saint, Dean of the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences, said, "The new unit is a fantastic facility which the University can be very proud of. We're looking forward to our students and staff making the most of everything that it has to offer, and we're delighted that the Earl of Wessex could be here to officially open the facility."
