Two legs good?

Recent graduate, Anisha Aiyappa, challenges us to face up to the real questions underlying animal welfare:

"It's a dog's life." "You are a pig" ... and much worse obscenities with the same idea. We use these phrases in our day-to-day lives without question. Whenever a subject is mentioned involving human importance over animals, it is generally accepted that we are superior without question. And what are the standard reasons?
